The National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers invited Andrew Crespo, Premal Dharia and Brittany White of IEMI, along with Robert Rose III, to give the keynote address at its Presidential Summit in Washington, DC, on plea bargaining and the trial penalty. Speaking to a room full of attorneys and criminal justice reform leaders from around the country, IEMI discussed its approach to the problem of plea bargaining and the need for a community-driven approach to change.
The conference was organized by Rebecca Shaeffer of Fair Trials, who offered this reaction about the keynote:
@AndrewMCrespo, @premaldharia, and Brittany White of @endmassinc_org gave a stunning and deeply-considered keynote at the @NACDL presidential summit on the trial penalty in December on the topic of #pleastrikes. Cannot wait to explore this piece. https://t.co/poY34Pg6xp
