Carceral Landscapes: Symposium on Carceral Architecture at Harvard Graduate School of Design

Hero Overlay – No Companion Stories (2)

OCTOBER 13, 2023

Co-hosted by the Institute to End Mass Incarceration and the Harvard Graduate School of Design, Carceral Landscapes is a two-day symposium focusing on the network of prisons, jails, detention centers, and their attendant infrastructure that comprises the backbone of the United States penal system. This symposium aims to build bridges across disciplines, from experts on the criminal legal system to the pivotal — though often unacknowledged — role of design in the construction of carceral facilities that surround us today.

Featured speakers include IEMI Executive Faculty Director Andrew Crespo.
