Apoorva Krishnan
Student Attorney (2021)
Apoorva Krishnan is an abolitionist, public defender, and former student attorney with the Institute to End Mass Incarceration. In 2020, she received her B.A. in Political Science and Gender and Sexuality Studies from the University of Chicago. She spent her undergraduate years engaged in abolitionist organizing with #CareNotCops and other community coalitions in South Side Chicago. Apoorva spent her 1L summer interning at the Federal Defenders of New York, where her research supported the representation of individuals navigating the federal criminal system. She spent her 2L summer as a certified practice intern with the Office of the Colorado State Public Defender, where she now works as a trial attorney representing low-income clients facing misdemeanor charges. At HLS, Apoorva was an organizer with the Harvard Prison Divestment Campaign and was the Executive Director of Harvard Defenders. She remains committed to movement-informed and client-centered lawyering.
