Brenda Choresi Carter

Brenda Choresi Carter is an organizer, strategic campaigner, and scholar of American culture and politics.  She currently serves as the founding director of the Reflective Democracy Campaign, an initiative of the Women Donors Network working to change the demographics of political power through groundbreaking research, catalytic grantmaking, and strategic communications.  She previously held several key roles at UNITE HERE, the union of hospitality industry workers, including Special Assistant to the President and Communications Director.  She earned a BA from Georgetown University and a PhD in American Studies from Yale University, and has taught courses in American Studies at Yale, Brown University, and the Wesleyan University Center for Prison Education.
