Devon Johnson
Student Attorney (2024)

Devon Johnson is an abolitionist, law student, and aspiring movement lawyer from Asheville, North Carolina. One day, he hopes to lead a holistic community-based practice in his home state aimed at disrupting the school-to-prison pipeline and abolishing juvenile detention. At Harvard, he has participated in the Child Advocacy Clinic where he focused on special education and school policing, and he currently works as a teaching fellow in Constitutional Law. Devon spent his first-year summer with Legal Aid Chicago’s juvenile criminal records expungement division. Prior to law school, he worked as a paralegal for Lambda Legal and Ayuda, focused on LGBTQ+ rights and immigrant justice respectively, and interned as a community organizer for the New York City Anti-Violence Project.
