Mirella Baker is a Harvard Law School student, abolitionist, and aspiring public defender. She graduated from Rice University, where she studied Political Science and Sociology and was a member of the Varsity Swim Team. While at Rice, Mirella interned with the Texas Innocence Network, working on capital defense cases. At Harvard Law School, Mirella is a member of Harvard Defenders, the Prison Legal Assistance Project (PLAP), and is an Executive Managing Editor for the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Journal. Mirella spent her first-year summer experiencing firsthand the power of movement lawyering in St. Louis interning for ArchCity Defenders. This summer she will be interning for the Alaska Public Defenders office.  In her free time, she loves to read, bake, and hang out with friends.
