Romaissaa Benzizoune

Romaissaa Benzizoune is the Assistant Editor of Inquest. She was previously a fellow at the New York Times, where she commissioned essays for the Opinion desk, and has also edited at Acacia, Mizna, and the Prison Journalism Project. Her writing—ranging from reported stories to essays on culture, race, and identity—has appeared in the New York Times, Teen Vogue, BuzzFeed, McSweeney’s, the Brooklyn Reader, and the Observer. She holds a Master of Arts in Near Eastern Studies from New York University and is of Moroccan descent.
